Our Beautiful Garden & Meadow
Here at Scoil íosa, Oranmore we are very lucky to have a garden that our very creative and environmentally aware caretaker has built on over the years. It is set in an beautiful setting and all visitors to the school get an opportunity to walk past this haven for pollinators and birds everyday with has a backdrop of native woodland and berry and rowan trees. It is glorious throughout all the seasons. Over the years, the native and pollinator friendly plants and flowers have been planted or given space to thrive. A ‘No Mow May’ in conjunction with ‘The Pollinator Project’ & ‘Biodiversity in Schools’ was therefore a welcomed break for Brendan, our caretaker 😀☕️
During the glorious weather of May, staff and students got to marvel at the even more natural beauty and amazing flowers that emerged. A neighbour has even reported a bee hive setting up in her back garden. Below are some photo’s of our beautiful meadow along with some flowers Ms. Quinn’s class picked & arranged for our May Altar.
