Initiative to Equip our pupils and Teachers with AI and Coding Skills

Some classes were recently lucky to receive a visit from Sally and Sarah from University of Galway. This is part of a new initiative aimed at equipping children with coding and AI skills. This program is led by the School of Education at University of Galway and is proudly supported supported by Google.org. Pupils completed coding using Scratch and Micro:bit. They also used Micro:bit to gain a greater understanding of AI and apply it to practical contexts.

As part of our commitment to a progressive digital learning framework, we have identified coding and AI as beneficial competencies that will equip our students for an evolving technological world. This initiative will strengthen our capacity to embed these skills into everyday teaching and learning throughout the school.
