Rang a Sé ag Féile Scoil Drámaíochta
Ms O’ Driscoll’s Sixth Class worked incredibly hard throughout the year preparing for their production of Aladdin. Their commitment and dedication were especially impressive as the entire play was performed as Gaeilge, adding an extra challenge to their rehearsals and performances.
The pupils took part in Féile Scoil Drámaíochta, competing against schools from Galway city and county. The first round of the competition took place in Inverin, where Sixth Class delivered an outstanding performance. Their hard work was rewarded when they came first in their category, securing a place in the next stage of the competition.
Adding to their success, Donncha McKernan, who played the role of Aladdin, was awarded Best Actor. This was a wonderful achievement and well-deserved recognition of his talent, confidence and dedication.
The class then progressed to the second round of the competition, where they performed against schools from all around Connacht. Once again, they impressed the judges and secured a place in the All-Ireland Finals in Mullingar – a fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work and commitment of every pupil involved.
While they did not take home the top prize at the All-Ireland Finals, reaching that stage of the competition was an incredible accomplishment in itself. Each and every member of the class was fantastic throughout the journey, representing the school with pride, enthusiasm and teamwork.
We are extremely proud of all the pupils for their dedication, perseverance and outstanding performances. Comhghairdeas mór leo ar fad!
