Sports Day 1st-3rd Class

What a phenomenal Sports Day we had with our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd classes! The children showed amazing determination, teamwork, and, most importantly, had heaps of fun. After running their socks off, the sound of a familiar chime filled the air… The ice-cream truck had arrived! 🍦🚚 Every child got to enjoy a delicious cone to cool down after all their hard work.
Check out the video below to capture the magic of the day.

Active April!

We have had such a busy month in Ms. Kelly’s 2nd class! We learned about Our Solar System and did projects on the planets. We planted some sunflower seeds! We have visited the library a few times and love to have DEAR time when we come back (drop everything and read!) We learned about the life cycle of the frog, painted blossom trees inspired by the blossoms all around the village! We made pictures based on the Long Walk in Galway!

December fun in 2nd class!

We’ve had a busy month of art and Christmas activities! Ms. Kelly’s class wrote their own Christmas story, illustrated the books and read the stories to Junior and Senior Infants! They chilsren really enjoyed being authors and storytellers! We had so much fun at our Christmas show! Nollaig Shona! 🎅🎄

Ready, Set, Blast Off!

Ahead of Space Week, Second Class had a special “Book Blast Off” where they explored a wide variety of books. Laid out on the tables were: picture books, Roald Dahl favourites, spooky stories, graphic novels and factual reads.

Some of our standout favourite titles from the event included:

  • The Boy Who Grew Dragons
  • The 13 Storey Treehouse
  • Diary of a Whimpy Kid

The children loved sampling new genres and sharing book recommendations with friends. It was a fantastic way to get everyone excited about reading. They had a blast!

Bracelets of Belonging in Second Class

Ms. Conneely’s Second Class enjoyed a special activity inspired by the book Our Class is a Family. Together, we explored how families and classrooms are built on kindness, respect, and helping one another. Each child made a bracelet with “Second” as the common link and colourful beads to celebrate their individuality.

Along the way, strings snapped and beads scattered, but the children, just like a real family, rallied together with patience and plenty of laughs, helping each other finish their bracelets.

Second Class School Tour

We had a busy week this week in Second Class. We had a great time at our school tour.

It was wonderful to celebrate our 6th class boys who came 2nd in the FAI Schools National Finals.

Teddy Bear’s Picnic

Ms Mullins’ and Ms Conways class had great fun in the sun today. We enjoyed our teddy bear’s picnic.
