A huge thank you to Niall Kelly from Microsoft for joining our 4th class students and coding with them using Microsoft MakeCode! 💻🎉
The students had an amazing time in Bug Arena, where they programmed their own bugs to think for themselves using AI and challenge other AI bugs in the arena. Watching their creations compete and problem-solve was inspiring and so much fun! 🐞🤖
We truly appreciate Niall’s time and expertise in bringing coding, creativity, and AI to life for our young learners. 🌟

As part of the Incredible Edibles , Mr Fahy’s class have been busy planting. We planted radish, bean, lettuce, beet root and turnip seeds as well as onions potatoes and strawberry plants. We have enjoyed learning about where our foods come from. #incredibleedibles #agriaware

As part of Seachtain na Gaeilge, Mr. Fahy’s class learnt some Irish dances. The children had great craic experiencing their culture.
Mr. Fahy’s 4th class were delighted to receive their Incredible Edibles pack today. The programme teaches children how to grow their own fruits and vegetables, while also exploring the journey of food from farm-to-table and emphasising the significance of quality ingredients.
Additionally, it underscores the vital role that fresh produce plays in maintaining a healthy, balanced diet, and encourages children to enjoy at least five servings of fruits and vegetables each day. #agriaware #incredibleedibles

Mr Fahy’s Class attended a book fair in school.

At Scoil Íosa, we promote the holistic development of every child and offer a range of extracurricular activities to meet the needs of our school population.
Boys and girls in 4th class have been taking part in a series of rugby lessons. These are facilitated by Connacht Rugby and provided by Corinthian’s Rugby Club.
Over the course of the programme, the children learned key skills such as passing, tackling, teamwork and spatial awareness, all while having great fun and staying active.
Coach Hughbert created a positive and encouraging environment, helping everyone to build confidence and enjoy trying something new. It was wonderful to see the pupils supporting one another, developing their skills, and growing in enthusiasm each week.
A big thank you to the Corinthian and especially Coach Hughbert for giving our 4th class such an enjoyable and memorable sporting experience!

Mr Fahy’s classroom was full of focus, creativity, and excitement as the children took part in a class based chess competition.
What made it extra special was that the students created their own chess pieces using wooden models. They carefully designed each piece, bringing their imagination and problem-solving skills to life before the games even began.
The competition showcases not only their growing chess skills, but also their patience, teamwork, and creativity. It was wonderful to see how proud they were to play with pieces they had made themselves. A great learning experience and a lot of fun for everyone involved!
