Memorial Blitz
Today, we were privileged to host our annual Blitz in honour of two remarkable members of our school community—Donal Greene, past pupil, and David Saunders, beloved staff member.
David was an exceptional teacher whose legacy lives on in our school. As a child, he was diagnosed with cancer and underwent leg amputation, but this never diminished his spirit or determination. David was a passionate sportsman who represented Ireland on the amputee soccer team before his illness
returned. We speak of him often—his courage, his dedication to students, and his unwavering positivity continue to inspire us all.
Donal was a past pupil of the boys’ school and is held in the highest regard throughout our community for his outstanding contribution to sport. We are immensely proud to host this event in his memory and to celebrate the values he embodied.
Our sincere thanks to Betty and Sean Greene for their generosity in providing refreshments and
goodie bags for all players on the day.
This Blitz is more than a sporting event—it is a celebration of resilience, community, and the
lasting impact of two extraordinary individuals
